Like I told you a few posts back, I'm trying to be healthier. SO, last night Caroline, Sara and I met Rebecca at a yoga studio in downtown Raleigh for a hot yoga class. As soon as I walked into the building, I knew it was going to be killer.
Let me set the scene for you: I walk in and the lobby itself is about 80 degrees and I can smell the sweat. After signing in, paying and such we talk to the instructor; she warned us that if we got dizzy or thought we were going to pass out, to just lay down and not really drink water or we'd get nauseous. "Okay," I thought, "I can do this, no biggie." She then said if we start to panic to just lay down and that we'd be fine... "So people panic?" I thought,"I'll be fine, I'm tough."
Well as soon as I walk into the room where the class is about to start, I begin to drip sweat. About twenty minutes in? My entire body is drenched, I had to take off my shirt and thought I wasn't ever going to make it out alive. Two minutes later? I'm laying down, eyes closed, praying I don't die in this little room. (Dramatic, I know)
So, I laid down for a bit, then got back up and kept going. I had to lay down a couple of times in the 90 minute class to calm myself down, and tell myself I could still breathe.
BUT at the end of class, I felt totally rejuvenated! I didn't feel sore, but relaxed... and soaked to the bone. I'm going to have to keep going, it wasn't all that expensive and really made me feel good! Hopefully, I'll be able to last longer without laying down as I continue going. It really was a cool experience altogether.
